Alonzo Batchelor

A Senator from Beaver County, Alonzo was born in Allegheny County, February 15, 1877, the son of William S. and Carrie (Reno) Batchelor; received his education in public schools and the Pennsylvania College of Embalming.  With his brother, he opened the Batchelor Furniture Company – a furniture and undertaking business at Monaca, which grew to one of the most successful undertaking businesses in the Beaver County area.  A member of numerous fraternal and civic organizations, he married Jesse Holmes of Allegheny County in 1907.  Senator Batchelor died on April 13, 1941.
