The son of Allen H and Katharine Witmeyer Ehrgood, born on November 27, 1923; Thomas was educated in Lebanon public schools; Deerfield Academy; Amherst College (A.B.), and Dickinson School of Law, LL.B. He was an attorney, serving as an Ensign in the US Navy, WWII, Pacific Campaign, serving on the destroyer escort USS Willis as well as several LCTs. Thomas was a member of the state House of Representatives, 1955-56; the state Senate 1957-1964; received the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s Distinguished Service Award, 1960; and enjoyed a life-long legal career in Lebanon. He married Polly Caruthers in 1948, and died on March 2, 2007, Lebanon, Pennsylvania.
