Alexander Dysart, born 1768, Karnamady, Londonderry, County Londonderry, Northern Ireland; son of William and Elizabeth Dysart; immigrated, settled, Rapho Township, Lancaster County with his parents, 1770; married Eleanor Patterson, 1794, children, Ann Dysart, Sarah Dysart Crawford, William Patterson Dysart, Alexander Dysart, Jr., Joseph Dysart, Ellen Dysart Morrow; received a land warrant located at the present site of Sinking Valley, Blair County, 1794; Indian trader; possessed three separate farms; elected, Republican, Pennsylvania State House of Representatives, 1807-1813; elected, Republican, Pennsylvania State House of Representatives, 1815; elected, Democrat, Pennsylvania State Senate, 1816-1820; Huntingdon County Commissioner; died, February 8, 1850 (aged 81-82), Blair County, Pennsylvania; interment, Sinking Valley Cemetery, Arch Spring, Blair County, Pennsylvania.
