Reed, George Leffingwell was born in Brooklyn, Kings County, N.Y., February 4, 1885; the son of George Edward and Ella Frances (Leffingwell) Reed; he attended public schools; moved to Central Pennsylvania where he attended Dickinson College, 1904; and graduated from Dickinson School of Law, 1907; admitted to the Dauphin County Bar, 1908; entered private practice; elected to the state house of Representatives, 1928-1932; state Senate, 1933-1936. He married Helen Roberta Moorhead in 1911. Methodist. Member, Phi Kappa Sigma; Freemasons. Died October 9, 1958, Harrisburg.
