Miles C. Rowland, Pike Co., was born at Rowland, Pike Co., PA, April 25, 1869; educated in the public schools and at Wyoming Seminary; for a number of years was engaged in the business of quarrying and dealing in bluestone; since 1900 has been continuously engaged in the lumber business; is a direct descendant of Hon. George H. Rowland, who served two terms in the House of Representatives and the Senate respectively, and a nephew of Hon. Lafayette Rowland, who was a member of the House of Representatives, 1889-1892, and a member of the Senate, 1895-1898; elected to the Senate in Nov. 1908, to fill the unexpired term of his deceased brother, Hon.
