WONER, George Irvin, a Representative from Butler County; born, June 30, 1870 in Canaan City, Oh.; Ph.B., philosophy, Wooster University, 1894; M.A., Wooster University, 1897; elected, class president, Wooster University; newspaper reporter (1897); editor and manager, The Daily Republican, Paintsville, Ohio (1898-1906); managing editor, The Butler Daily Eagle (1906-1911); editor and manager, The Butler Daily Citizen (1911-1913); organizer, treasurer and manager, Zeller Printing Company, Incorporated (1913-1936); president, Butler Business Men’s Association (3 years); director, Butler Chamber of Commerce (5 years); elected to as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives to serve the 1919 term; reelected to the 1921 and 1923 terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House to the 1925 term; elected, board of city commissioners, Butler; died, December 20, 1946 in Butler, Butler County, Pennsylvania; interred, North Side Cemetery, Butler, Butler County, Pennsylvania.
