Benjamin H. Thompson was the son of “boatman” George and Anne Thompson of Elizabeth Township, Allegheny County, born on September 24, 1873. He was educated at public and private schools; graduated from Princeton in 1897, and was admitted to the Allegheny County Bar in 1901, and the Westmoreland Bar in 1913; private practice; first assistant district attorney of Westmoreland County, 1926-1929; elected to the Senate of Pennsylvania for one term, 1933-1936; president of the Westmoreland Bar Association, 1944; died in June 1963.
