Kirk Haines
Biography
1815 -
Kirk Haines was born in June 1815, Cecil County, Maryland, the son of Elisha and Hannah (Kirk) Haines; married Mary Black; and died September 10, 1878 in Millerstown, Perry County. Haines, also a member of the state House of Representatives, 1855-1856; was elected to state Senate where he represented the “famous double district” with Louis Hall of Blair County; and represented the county as a member of the 1860 Republican National Convention. Haines was a Harrisburg businessman and the owner-manager of the Harrisburg Novelty Iron Works. He was also a member of the Harrisburg and Newport Odd Fellows
