Hon. Edwin Albright, born on November 8, 1838 in Upper Milford, was the son of Michael H. and Maria Schaeffer Albright of Dillingersville, Lehigh County.  The family moved to Allentown when he was a child.  Edwin was educated in public schools; taught school in the Krupp's Berg, near Passer, Bucks County; read law with Congressman Samuel Bridges; received a law course at the University of Pennsylvania; and was admitted to the bar in April 1862.  Albright was elected District Attorney of Lehigh County, 1865; state Senator (two terms), 1871-1876; and served on the Senate Judiciary Committee during the 1874 Constitutional Convention, overseeing enactment of the convention’s provisions.  In 1878 he was elected Judge of the County Courts and served 24 of this three terms’ 30 years.  He was a member of the Lutheran Church, and many fraternal and honorary organizations.  Albright was a charter member of the Pennsylvania-German Society and was elected, 1891, as one of its two vice-presidents.  Judge Albright died on December 13, 1902.  He married June 19, 1866, Rebecca Sieger.
