McCLURE, James Haines, a Representative from Allegheny County; born, June 27, 1886 in McKeesport, Allegheny County, Pa.; graduated, Gettysburg College, 1908; graduated, University of Pennsylvania Law School, 1911; attorney; solicitor, Glassport and Glassport School District (18 years); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives to the 1923 term and reelected for 5 more consecutive terms; elected, Speaker (1927-1928); not a candidate for reelection to the House (1934); assistant solicitor, Allegheny County (1932-1936); unsuccessful campaign, United States Congress (1934); Assistant District Attorney, Allegheny County (1940-1941); died, February 17, 1941 in Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania; interred, Versailles Cemetery, McKeesport, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.
