House Committee Roll Call Votes

Committee JUDICIARY Date September 30, 2015
Bill/Resolution HB323 PN1341 A03364 Type of Motion Adopt Amendment
Maker of Motion Rep. Petrarca Seconded by Rep. Neuman
Brief Description
replaces the current language of the bill. Due to Separation of Powers concerns, this amendment authorizes, but does not require, “Commerce Court” programs within the Superior Court and Courts of Common Pleas to decide business-related cases. The amendment is structured like current statutes authorizing problem-solving courts. The amendment requires appointment of a Statewide commerce courts coordinator to encourage and assist the various Courts of Common Pleas in establishing commerce courts where appropriate.
