House Committee Roll Call Votes

Amends the Public School Code to (1) provide for tenure after five years of service and a rating of distinguished or proficient on the employe’s two most recent performance evaluations; (2) allow suspension of professional employes for economic reasons; (3) require suspensions to be based upon a professional employe’s performance rating except in the case of professional employes with the same rating, in which case seniority will be the basis; and (4) require that a professional employe aggrieved by a school board action file an appeal with the Secretary of Education within 15 days.
