WHEREAS, There is no cure for CRPS and patients may require
several different treatments for the condition, including
medication, physical and occupational therapy and behavioral
management; and
WHEREAS, Increasing public awareness and understanding of
CRPS and supporting the efforts of researchers, clinicians and
advocates who are working to find better treatments and a cure
are a top priority; and
WHEREAS, "Color the World Orange Day" is a global initiative
that encourages people to wear orange clothing or accessories
and light our buildings, bridges and landmarks in orange to show
solidarity with CRPS patients and to raise funds for CRPS
research; and
WHEREAS, Some patients succeed in recovering from the
condition, while others suffer permanently; and
WHEREAS, Additional research is needed in order to better
understand and treat CRPS; therefore be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives designate the
month of November 2024 as "Complex Regional Pain Syndrome
Awareness Month" and recognize November 4, 2024, as "Color the
World Orange Day" in Pennsylvania; and be it further
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives acknowledge the
importance of "Complex Regional Pain Syndrome Awareness Month"
and "Color the World Orange Day" as an opportunity to educate
the public and the medical community about the symptoms,
diagnosis and management of CRPS and support efforts to improve
the lives of people living with CRPS.
