AN ACT
Amending the act of February 13, 1970 (P.L.19, No.10), entitled
"An act enabling certain minors to consent to medical, dental
and health services, declaring consent unnecessary under
certain circumstances," providing for vaccine-preventable
diseases.
The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
hereby enacts as follows:
Section 1. The act of February 13, 1970 (P.L.19, No.10),
entitled "An act enabling certain minors to consent to medical,
dental and health services, declaring consent unnecessary under
certain circumstances," is amended by adding a section to read:
Section 6. Vaccine-Preventable Diseases.--The following
shall apply to consent to receive immunizations:
(1) A minor who is fourteen years of age or older may give
effective consent to receive a vaccine if the vaccine is
recommended by the United States Advisory Committee on
Immunization Practices and the vaccine will be provided in
accordance with the committee's recommendations for
administration of the vaccination.

(2) The minor's parent's or legal guardian's consent may not
be necessary to receive a vaccine under paragraph (1).
(3) A minor who is fourteen years of age or older shall have
the right to decline a vaccination for which a parent or legal
guardian has otherwise given consent.
Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
