A RESOLUTION
Urging the Pennsylvania Department of Health to prioritize the
vaccination of vulnerable populations and essential workers
over legislators and other public officials who may work
remotely.
WHEREAS, Over the course of the COVID-19 pandemic, more than
500,000 people in Pennsylvania have contracted COVID-19 and more
than 12,000 have died; and
WHEREAS, The development of COVID-19 vaccines and the
issuance of emergency use authorizations are signs of hope that
the COVID-19 pandemic will soon come to an end; and
WHEREAS, The distribution of vaccines remains a challenge and
health authorities must prioritize vulnerable groups and those
most likely to contract COVID-19; and
WHEREAS, Residents of long-term care facilities, health care
workers, teachers, service employees, staff at medical
facilities, transportation workers, food supply workers and many
others who may not be able to work from home and are regularly
exposed to other individuals because of their jobs or residences
should be prioritized for vaccination; and
