AN ACT
Amending Title 34 (Game) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
Statutes, in hunting and furtaking licenses, further
providing for resident license and fee exemptions.
The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
hereby enacts as follows:
Section 1. Section 2706 of Title 34 of the Pennsylvania
Consolidated Statutes is amended by adding a subsection to read:
§ 2706. Resident license and fee exemptions.

(h) First responder hunting licenses.--A first responder
shall be entitled to purchase a resident hunting license at the
cost of $1 plus the current issuing fee upon application to the
commission. An application under this subsection shall contain
the same information as is required for other resident hunting
license applications and documentation that the applicant is a
first responder. A first responder may receive only one resident
hunting license under this subsection for the fiscal year 2021-
2022 and one resident hunting license under this subsection for

the fiscal year 2022-2023. The commission may not issue a
resident hunting license under this subsection after June 30,
2023. The commission may promulgate regulations to implement
this subsection. As used in this subsection, the term "first
responder" means any of the following:
(1) A law enforcement officer, a firefighter, an
emergency medical technician, an emergency service
dispatcher, an ambulance driver or any other similar
individual who is deemed by the commission to respond to
requests for emergency assistance.
(2) A corrections officer at a correctional institution
as defined in 61 Pa.C.S. § 102 (relating to definitions).
Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
