FREEMAN, HILL-EVANS, HOHENSTEIN, JAMES, KINSEY, LONGIETTI,

MENTZER, MILLARD, PICKETT, POLINCHOCK, SAINATO, SAMUELSON,

Consolidated Statutes, in veterans' pensions and benefits,

further providing for blind veteran's pension and for amputee

and paralyzed veteran's pension.

The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania

hereby enacts as follows:

Section 1. Sections 7701(b) and 7702(a) of Title 51 of the

Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes are amended to read:

§ 7701. Blind veteran's pension.

(b) Amount and eligibility.--In addition to any other

of every applicant for a pension, and his decision in the matter

shall be final. THE AMOUNT OF THE PENSION SHALL BE INCREASED

BIENNIALLY, ON JANUARY 1, BY THE PERCENTAGE CHANGE INCREASE, IF

ANY, IN THE CONSUMER PRICE INDEX FOR ALL URBAN CONSUMERS (CPI-U)

FOR THE PENNSYLVANIA, NEW JERSEY, DELAWARE AND MARYLAND AREA FOR

THE MOST RECENT 12-MONTH PERIOD FOR WHICH FIGURES ARE OFFICIALLY

REPORTED BY THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF LABOR, BUREAU OF

LABOR STATISTICS . THE DEPARTMENT SHALL TRANSMIT NOTICE OF ANY

BIENNIAL INCREASE TO THE LEGISLATIVE REFERENCE BUREAU FOR

$250 per month. Applications for the pensions shall be made to

and in the form prescribed by the department. The Adjutant

General shall determine the eligibility of every applicant for a

pension, and his decision in the matter shall be final. THE

AMOUNT OF THE PENSION SHALL BE INCREASED BIENNIALLY, ON JANUARY
