AN ACT
Designating a portion of Pennsylvania Route 981 from the
intersection with Pennsylvania Route 819 to the intersection
with State Route 2021 in Mount Pleasant Township,
Westmoreland County, as the Honorable Mike Reese Memorial
Highway.
The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
hereby enacts as follows:
Section 1. Honorable Mike Reese Memorial Highway.
(a) Findings.--The General Assembly finds and declares as
follows:
(1) Representative Mike Reese was born March 7, 1978, in
Mount Pleasant, Pennsylvania.
(2) Representative Reese attended Mount Pleasant High
School, later receiving a bachelor's degree in secondary
education from Duquesne University and a master's degree in

business administration from Seton Hill University.
(3) Representative Reese was the State Representative
for the 59th Legislative District from 2009 to 2021.
(4) Representative Reese died January 2, 2021.
(b) Designation.--The portion of Pennsylvania Route 981 from
the intersection with Pennsylvania Route 819 to the intersection
with State Route 2021 in Mount Pleasant Township, Westmoreland
County, is designated the Honorable Mike Reese Memorial Highway.
(c) Signs.--The Department of Transportation shall erect and
maintain appropriate signs displaying the name of the interstate
to traffic in both directions on the interstate.
Section 2. Effective date.
This act shall take effect in 60 days.
