AN ACT
Amending Title 35 (Health and Safety) of the Pennsylvania
Consolidated Statutes, in COVID-19 disaster emergency,
providing for Public Utility Commission public hearings.
The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
hereby enacts as follows:
Section 1. Chapter 57 of Title 35 of the Pennsylvania
Consolidated Statutes is amended by adding a subchapter to read:

ยง 5751. Prohibition on public hearings.
(a) General rule.--The Pennsylvania Public Utility
Commission may not conduct a public hearing where the review,
approval or denial of a tariff or rate increase case applied for
by a utility is on the meeting agenda until the expiration or
termination of the COVID-19 disaster emergency.
(b) Definitions.--As used in this section, the following

words and phrases shall have the meanings given to them in this
subsection unless the context clearly indicates otherwise:
"Utility." A natural gas distribution company, a city
natural gas distribution operation, an electric distribution
company, a water utility or a wastewater utility.
Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
