AN ACT
Amending Title 34 (Game) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
Statutes, in hunting and furtaking licenses, further
providing for resident license and fee exemptions and for elk
hunting licenses.
The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
hereby enacts as follows:
Section 1. Sections 2706(b)(1) and 2706.2(a) of Title 34 of
the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes are amended to read:
§ 2706. Resident license and fee exemptions.

(b) Disabled veterans.--
(1) Any resident disabled veteran who has a disability
incurred in any war or armed conflict which consists of the
loss of one or more limbs, or the loss of the use of one or
more limbs, or who is 100% disabled as certified by the
United States Department of Veterans Affairs, and who meets
all other qualifications of this title and is otherwise
mentally and physically fit, shall be issued a free regular

hunting or furtaking license upon application to the
commission or a county treasurer[.] and, if selected in the
separate random drawing under section 2706.2(a)(3), a free
elk hunting license.

§ 2706.2. Elk hunting licenses.
(a) Application limitation.--
(1) Whenever the commission makes a determination to
authorize a hunting season for the taking of elk, no person
may submit more than one application for an elk hunting
license in any license year.
(2) The commission shall hold a random drawing of
applications for the issuance of elk licenses under this
subsection at the Elk Country Visitor Center in the Township
of Benezette.
(3) The commission shall hold a separate random drawing
of applications submitted by licensed hunters who are
disabled veterans under section 2706(b)(1) (relating to
r esident license and fee exemptions) for the issuance of one
bull and one cow elk license.

Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
