AN ACT
Amending the act of March 10, 1949 (P.L.30, No.14), entitled "An
act relating to the public school system, including certain
provisions applicable as well to private and parochial
schools; amending, revising, consolidating and changing the
laws relating thereto," in school districts, providing for
unlawful loans.
The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
hereby enacts as follows:
Section 1. The act of March 10, 1949 (P.L.30, No.14), known
as the Public School Code of 1949, is amended by adding a
section to read:
Section 217.1. Unlawful Loans.--(a) It shall be unlawful
for a school district to distribute a personal loan to any
person on or after the effective date of this act.
(b) No later than ten (10) days from the discovery that a
personal loan has been distributed in violation of this section,
in addition to the total loan balance, the recipient of the
personal loan shall pay a fee equal to twenty percent (20%) of
the total loan balance, including the interest accrued, to the
school district.

Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
