A RESOLUTION
Urging the Congress of the United States to fund and preserve
the United States Postal Service.
WHEREAS, For more than 200 years the United States Postal
Service has provided the essential public service of securely
delivering the mail to every United States address six days a
week at affordable rates; and
WHEREAS, Due to legislative mandates, restructuring and a
denial of relief funds, the United States Postal Service is
straining under debilitating financial losses; and
WHEREAS, Without Congressional action, the United States
Postal Service faces imminent financial collapse; therefore be
it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
urge the Congress of the United States to fund and preserve the
United States Postal Service; and be it further
RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be transmitted to
the presiding officers of each house of Congress and to each
