A RESOLUTION
Commemorating the 67th anniversary of the Korean War Armistice.
WHEREAS, The Korean War began June 25, 1950, when North Korea
invaded South Korea; and
WHEREAS, The Korean War officially ended July 27, 1953, in
Panmunjom, North Korea; and
WHEREAS, Eighteen official copies of the tri-language Korean
Armistice Agreement were signed by United States Army Lieutenant
General William K. Harrison, Jr., senior delegate of the United
Nations Command Delegation, North Korean General Nam Il, senior
delegate of the Delegation of the Korean People's Army, and the
Chinese People's Volunteers; and
WHEREAS, The document is somewhat exceptional since no nation
is a signatory to the Korean Armistice Agreement, a purely
military document; and
WHEREAS, Negotiations, leading to the execution of the Korean
Armistice Agreement, consisted of 158 meetings spread over two
years and 17 days; and
