A RESOLUTION
Commending the International 22q11.2 Foundation, Inc., and
recognizing November 22, 2019, as "22q Awareness Day" in
Pennsylvania.
WHEREAS, The International 22q11.2 Foundation, Inc., the
longest-standing entity of its kind, focuses on the complex
needs of people with a loss of genetic material from chromosome
22; and
WHEREAS, Started by a small group of parents working with one
clinical expert, the foundation has faithfully pursued its
purpose to connect and support families, specialists and
researchers since 2003; and
WHEREAS, Through the foundation's global network and
alliances, other known clinical conditions such as DiGeorge
syndrome and velocardiofacial syndrome have been merged into one
named chromosomal microdeletion syndrome, 22q11.2 deletion
syndrome; and
WHEREAS, In October 2018, the American Journal of Medical
Genetics published papers by foundation medical advisory board
