A RESOLUTION
Urging the Congress of the United States to facilitate payment
to insurance companies through Federal stimulus funds for the
reimbursement of costs associated with the payment of claims
made on business interruption insurance policies during the
COVID-19 pandemic.
WHEREAS, Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic affecting the
United States, businesses face unprecedented financial
challenges, uncertainty and possible closure; and
WHEREAS, Congress is moving to provide financial assistance
to businesses affected by the COVID-19 pandemic in the form of
Federal stimulus funds; and
WHEREAS, Insurance companies are best suited to target and
identify those businesses with business interruption insurance
in place and to administer claim payments; and
WHEREAS, Businesses with existing business interruption
insurance have a vehicle in place for receiving reimbursement
and aid during these challenging times through the payment of
related claims by insurance companies; and
