including secure detention, secure treatment, institutional
facilities, group homes, foster homes and community-based and
in-home family-based programming; and
WHEREAS, The members of PPJS, adhering to the Balanced and
Restorative Justice Model, contribute to public safety by
providing a stable environment for at-risk youths, providing
education and programming and ensuring sufficient opportunities
for growth and development of Pennsylvania's youth; and
WHEREAS, The members PPJS also ensure every child's health
and well-being by providing competency development, self-
discipline and stabilization through comprehensive physical and
behavioral health evaluations as well as community involvement;
and
WHEREAS, Thousands of men and women are dedicated to ensuring
the proper care and supervision of youths through the
application of evidence-informed practices and trauma-informed
approaches designed to positively impact youth according to
their developmental needs; and
WHEREAS, Youth care worker members of the PPJS stand ready to
respond to youths who display an array of unresolved mental
health, behavioral, educational, emotional and intellectual
issues; and
WHEREAS, PPJS acts as a key resource for these service
providers offering education, representation and support for the
important services they provide for the Commonwealth's youths
and communities; and
WHEREAS, Pennsylvania's juvenile justice service providers in
coordination with PPJS, merit a week of recognition for their
unending services aimed at protecting our communities and
