A RESOLUTION
Honoring educators and education support professionals in this
Commonwealth for their efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic.
WHEREAS, Educators perform the critical role of educating
students in this Commonwealth; and
WHEREAS, Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the educational
process has completely changed requiring educators to adapt to
new ways of teaching and interacting with their students; and
WHEREAS, Educators have gone above and beyond their normal
duties to ensure that their students continue to learn and help
their students adjust to the changing environment; and
WHEREAS, Educators deserve to be acknowledged and applauded
for their efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic; and
WHEREAS, Many educators have delivered food and visited the
homes of their students; and
WHEREAS, In an effort to continue the educational process
while social distancing, some educators have even taught

students from their front lawns; and
WHEREAS, Administrators and teachers have been working
tirelessly to prepare for a safe school year and responding to
questions and concerns from parents and school staff; and
WHEREAS, Educational support professionals, including food
service workers, paraprofessionals, bus drivers, custodians and
maintenance personnel have played a critical role in supporting
students and meeting their needs since schools were closed last
spring and will be critical in ensuring a safe return to school;
and
WHEREAS, Educators include nurses, counselors, psychologists,
social workers and others who are responsible for supporting the
full range of student health and wellness; and
WHEREAS, Educators have also continued their important role
in reporting suspected child abuse; therefore be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives honor educators
and education support professionals in this Commonwealth for
their efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic; and be it further
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives recognize
educators as heroes for their evolutionary and out-of-the-box
thinking during this challenging time.
