A RESOLUTION
Recognizing and honoring the work and service of Brian A. Hudson
as the executive director and chief executive officer of the
Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency.
WHEREAS, Brian A. Hudson has spent 16 years of his life as
the executive director and chief executive officer of the
Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency (PHFA); and
WHEREAS, Before assuming the position of executive director
and chief executive officer of PHFA in 2003, Mr. Hudson spent 45
years in service to PHFA in key positions, including chief
financial officer; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Hudson's stewardship as executive director and
chief executive officer has been an extraordinary success; and
WHEREAS, In that role, Mr. Hudson worked with the
Commonwealth to allocate millions of dollars of tax credit
investments in affordable rental housing across Pennsylvania and
expand a Statewide housing counseling network; and
WHEREAS, Moreover, Mr. Hudson forged mergers and alliances

with strong international industrial unions and helped combat
the exploitation of workers in the developing world; and
WHEREAS, Consequently, workers in the developing world have
supported the campaigns of United Steelworkers to challenge
renegade corporations; and
WHEREAS, While leading the PHFA, Mr. Hudson worked to ensure
the stability of the housing market during the Great Recession
and position the PHFA for growth in the years that followed; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Hudson played a key role in working in a
bipartisan manner with members of the General Assembly to adapt
the PHFA to respond to changes within the housing marketplace
and provide affordable housing solutions; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Hudson has also served as chair of Commonwealth
Cornerstone Group (CCG) that was started by PHFA in 2004; and
WHEREAS, Under Mr. Hudson's leadership, CCG has distributed
$368 million in New Markets Tax Credits to promote economic
development in rural and low-income areas of this Commonwealth;
and
WHEREAS, Mr. Hudson is a current board member and the past
president of the National Council of State Housing Agencies; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Hudson is a former chair of the Audit Committee
of the Federal Home Loan Bank of Pittsburgh and a former member
of the Consumer Advisory Council of the Federal Reserve Board;
and
WHEREAS, Mr. Hudson is a pioneer in his community and has
been a constant force for the betterment of this Commonwealth;
and
WHEREAS, Currently, Mr. Hudson is a certified public
accountant and a certified treasury professional; therefore be

RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives recognize and
honor the work and service of Brian A. Hudson as the executive
director and chief executive officer of the Pennsylvania Housing
Finance Agency; and be it further
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives wish Mr. Hudson
the best during his well-deserved retirement after displaying
the highest level of leadership and service to this
Commonwealth.
