A RESOLUTION
Recognizing November 19, 2019, as "American Made Matters Day" in
Pennsylvania.
WHEREAS, Observed since 2013, "American Made Matters Day"
addresses the positive impact of American manufacturing on job
creation and enriching our local communities; and
WHEREAS, Investment in American-made products spurs the
United States economy, product safety and environmental
protection; and
WHEREAS, Investment in American-made products shapes the
future of our nation through innovation; and
WHEREAS, As part of "American Made Matters Day," consumers
are encouraged to buy at least one American-made product to show
their support of American manufacturing; and
WHEREAS, Consumers are further encouraged to buy American-
made products throughout the holiday shopping season; and
WHEREAS, The National Association of Manufacturers reports

that every $1 spent on American-made goods invests an additional
$1.81 in the United States economy; and
WHEREAS, The National Association of Manufacturers reveals
that for each manufacturing job there are four additional jobs
in local service businesses; and
WHEREAS, Among high-tech manufacturing jobs, each job
generates up to five local service jobs; and
WHEREAS, High-tech manufacturing jobs promote demand in other
industries, including technology, supply chain management and
logistics; and
WHEREAS, Bollman Hat Company, America's oldest hat company,
the founding member of American Made Matters and a Pennsylvania
employer since 1868, created this day to strengthen our
Commonwealth and our country; therefore be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives recognize
November 19, 2019, as "American Made Matters Day" in
Pennsylvania.
