AN ACT
Amending Title 11 (Cities) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
Statutes, in elected officers and elections, further
providing for nominations and elections.
The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
hereby enacts as follows:
Section 1. Section 10703 of Title 11 of the Pennsylvania
Consolidated Statutes is amended to read:
ยง 10703. Nominations and elections.
[Each] (a) Pennsylvania Election Code.--Except as provided
in subsection (b), each matter relating to a nomination of a
candidate and election of a city officer shall be governed by
the Pennsylvania Election Code.
(b) Exceptions to Pennsylvania Election Code.--
Notwithstanding any conflicting provision in the Pennsylvania
Election Code, the following shall apply:
(1) The number of valid signatures of registered and
enrolled members of the proper party required for nomination
petitions of candidates at primaries for public or party

offices to be filled by a vote of the electors in cities of
the third class shall be 10.
(2) No filing fee shall be required for a nomination
petition for any public officer or party officer in any city
of the third class.
Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
