AN ACT
Amending the act of December 18, 2001 (P.L.949, No.114),
entitled "An act establishing a unified workforce investment
system; restructuring certain administrative functions,
procedures and entities; transferring workforce development
functions of Commonwealth agencies; establishing the
Pennsylvania Workforce Investment Board; providing for
critical job training grants, for guarantees for program
quality and performance for workforce development programs,
for workforce leadership grants and for industry
partnerships; establishing the Keystone Works Program; and
authorizing local workforce investment boards," in industry
partnerships, further providing for industry clusters.
The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
hereby enacts as follows:
Section 1. Section 1302(e) of the act of December 18, 2001
(P.L.949, No.114), known as the Workforce Development Act, is
amended to read:

(e) [List] Lists of occupations.--
(1) The department shall annually issue a list of
Statewide and regional high-priority occupations which will

guide workforce and educational investments by the department
and participating agencies.
(2) Within six months of the effective date of this
paragraph, the Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance
Agency shall, in consultation with the department, add child
care and long-term care to the department's in-demand
occupations list. The department and the Pennsylvania Higher
Education Assistance Agency shall jointly conduct a public
campaign to increase awareness of this change to the in-
demand occupations list and encourage employees to pursue
these occupations and employers to hire employees in these
occupations.
Section 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
