AN ACT
Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
Statutes, in other required equipment, further providing for
general requirements for school buses.
The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
hereby enacts as follows:
Section 1. Section 4552(d) of Title 75 of the Pennsylvania
Consolidated Statutes is amended to read:
ยง 4552. General requirements for school buses.

(d) Seating.--
(1) Adequate seating space of safe design and
construction shall be provided for each passenger and no
passenger shall be carried for which adequate seating space
is not available and used.
(2) The seats on each bus that carries passengers 12
years of age or younger shall be equipped with or be fitted
with retractable seat belts. No passenger may be carried for
whom a seat belt is not available. Each passenger shall use a

seat belt when the bus is in motion.

Section 2. This act shall take effect in 90 days.
