AN ACT
Amending Title 18 (Crimes and Offenses) of the Pennsylvania
Consolidated Statutes, in riot, disorderly conduct and
related offenses, providing for the offense of transporting
dogs in external section of vehicle.
The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
hereby enacts as follows:
Section 1. Title 18 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
Statutes is amended by adding a section to read:
ยง 5538.1. Transporting dogs in external section of vehicle.
(a) Offense defined.--It shall be prohibited to carry or
cause or allow to be carried a dog on the hood, roof, truck bed
or any other external section of a vehicle on a public road in
this Commonwealth.
(b) Grading.--Upon conviction, a violation under this
section shall be a summary offense punishable by:
(1) A fine of not less than $50 nor more than $150 for a
first violation.
(2) A fine of not less than $150 nor more than $300 for
