
director is hereby abolished.
(b) Excluding school districts where the board of school
directors is appointed, except as provided in subsections (c)
and (d), school directors shall be elected in accordance with
the act of June 3, 1937 (P.L.1333, No.320), known as the
"Pennsylvania Election Code."
(c) A primary election for school director nominations shall
not be held for the 2015 municipal elections and thereafter.
School directors shall be elected at the November municipal
election beginning in 2015.
(d) Notwithstanding section 951 of the "Pennsylvania
Election Code," nomination papers for the office of school
director shall be filed in the same manner as nominations of
candidates by political bodies or independent candidates, as
provided by the "Pennsylvania Election Code," without regard to
political party membership. Nomination papers for the office of
school director must include the signatures of a minimum number
of qualified electors, without regard to political party
affiliation as follows:
(1) two hundred for a school district of the first class A;
(2) one hundred for a school district of the second class;
(3) fifty for a school district of the third class; and
(4) twenty-five for a school district of the fourth class.
Section 2. Section 302.1(d) of the act is amended to read:

Methods for Election of School Directors in First Class A School

[(d) Nomination and Elections of School Directors. School
directors shall be nominated and elected in accordance with the
