AN ACT
Imposing a duty on the Department of Transportation to file with
the Department of Homeland Security a request for extension
of time to comply with the REAL ID Act of 2005; and making a
related repeal.
The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
hereby enacts as follows:
Section 1. Duty to submit request for extension.
The Department of Transportation of the Commonwealth shall
submit a written request to the Department of Homeland Security
that seeks an extension of time for the Commonwealth to comply
with the provisions of Division B of the Emergency Supplemental
Appropriations Act for Defense, the Global War on Terror and
Tsunami Relief, 2005 (Public Law 109-13, 119 Stat. 231). The
amount of time requested for the extension shall be at the
discretion of the Secretary of Transportation.
Section 2. Repeal.
(a) General rule.--The General Assembly finds that the
repeal under subsection (b) is necessary to effectuate this act.

(b) Specific repeal.--The act of May 8, 2012 (P.L.254,
No.38), known as the REAL ID Nonparticipation Act, is repealed.
Section 3. Effective date.
This act shall take effect immediately.
