A RESOLUTION
Commemorating Capital BlueCross for its 80th year of serving
central Pennsylvania and the Lehigh Valley with excellence.
WHEREAS, Capital BlueCross was founded on March 1, 1938, as
Capital Hospital Service; and
WHEREAS, Serving 21 counties in this Commonwealth, Capital
BlueCross is one of the largest employers in central
Pennsylvania and the Lehigh Valley; and
WHEREAS, Since its inception, Capital BlueCross has been
focused on serving customers with excellence and driving
innovation through the health care system; and
WHEREAS, Capital BlueCross has earned the highest score among
health insurance companies tracked nationally in the American
Customer Satisfaction Index; and
WHEREAS, Capital BlueCross supports community health and
wellness by opening Capital Blue health and wellness centers in

Enola and Center Valley that are open to anyone in the community
and by offering fitness classes, wellness coaching, health
screening and the Healthy You Cafe, a cafeteria with nutritious
food; and
WHEREAS, Capital BlueCross remains dedicated to the counties
it serves, demonstrating continued contributions to this
Commonwealth by supporting multiple causes and organizations
that work to improve our communities and by encouraging
employees to volunteer and support charities which promote
health and wellness for families and children in need; therefore
be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives commemorate
Capital BlueCross for its 80th year of serving central
Pennsylvania and the Lehigh Valley with excellence.
