A RESOLUTION
Recognizing April 17, 2018, as "Architects Day" in Pennsylvania.
WHEREAS, Architects have made unique contributions to the
history, texture and quality of life in this Commonwealth; and
WHEREAS, The beginning of an organized architectural
profession in this nation was signified by the founding of the
American Institute of Architects more than 160 years ago; and
WHEREAS, The American Institute of Architects (AIA)
Pennsylvania, founded in 1909, is the Statewide component of the
American Institute of Architects; and
WHEREAS, AIA Pennsylvania has a Statewide membership of more
than 2,700; and
WHEREAS, AIA Pennsylvania and its members advocate good
community design and responsible stewardship of the built
environment; and
WHEREAS, AIA Pennsylvania and its members maintain the

highest standards of professional qualifications, ethics and
advancements in training and education; and
WHEREAS, Architects express the richness of our heritage and
the vitality of spirit through the vigilant stewardship of great
architectural and historical treasures; and
WHEREAS, Architects improve the quality of life for all
residents in this Commonwealth by combining advances in building
technology with design innovation to build healthy, safe,
habitable and sustainable buildings and communities; therefore
be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives recognize April
17, 2018, as "Architects Day" in Pennsylvania.
