A RESOLUTION
Designating May 23, 2017, as "Teacher Education Day" in
Pennsylvania and honoring the outstanding service of teacher
educators who prepare teachers for Pennsylvania's classrooms.
WHEREAS, This Commonwealth has a long history and tradition
of producing teachers of the highest quality with the help and
guidance of the dedicated teacher educators who prepare,
supervise, observe and evaluate them; and
WHEREAS, Many teacher educators across this Commonwealth have
dedicated their professional lives to preparing the best
teachers for elementary and secondary students; and
WHEREAS, This Commonwealth has more than 90 colleges and
universities that offer teacher education programs approved by
the Department of Education; and
WHEREAS, Teacher education candidates in this Commonwealth
are exposed to a multitude of instructional opportunities during
their preparation programs, including working with children from
