AN ACT
Amending the act of March 10, 1949 (P.L.30, No.14), entitled "An
act relating to the public school system, including certain
provisions applicable as well to private and parochial
schools; amending, revising, consolidating and changing the
laws relating thereto," in preliminary provisions, providing
for State standardized testing requirements.
The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
hereby enacts as follows:
Section 1. The act of March 10, 1949 (P.L.30, No.14), known
as the Public School Code of 1949, is amended by adding a
section to read:
Section 121.1. State Standardized Testing Requirements.--(a)
The Department of Education shall revise its 2018 schedule for
the administration of the PSSA test to provide that testing
shall begin no earlier than May 7, 2018. In subsequent years,
the administration of the PSSA test shall begin three weeks
prior to the Memorial Day holiday.
(b) For the 2017-2018 school year, the Department of
Education shall transmit the PSSA test and Keystone Exam results

to a school entity's chief school administrator no later than
August 15, 2018. In subsequent years, the Department of
Education shall transmit the results no later than August 15
following the conclusion of test administration.
Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
