(1) Each member appointed to the task force shall be
knowledgeable of the issues surrounding consumer protection,
health care, health care costs and health insurance and
shall, to the greatest extent possible, include individuals
who represent pharmacies, pharmacy benefit managers, patient
advocacy groups, pharmaceutical manufacturers, health
insurers or licensed health care providers.
(2) A member of the task force may be a member of the
General Assembly.
(3) Appointments to the task force shall be made not
less than 30 days after the effective date of this section.
Any vacancy shall be filled by the appointing authority.
(4) The members of the task force shall elect a member
to serve as chairperson of the task force.
(d) Expenses.--Members may not receive compensation for
their service but shall be reimbursed for all necessary travel
and other reasonable expenses incurred in connection with the
performance of their duties as members of the task force.
Section 4. Meetings of the task force.
(a) First meeting.--The task force shall hold its first
meeting within 60 days of the effective date of this section.
(b) Number of meetings.--The task force shall meet at least
four times throughout the course of the year beginning on the
date of the first meeting and, subject to the approval of the
chairperson, may hold additional meetings whenever necessary to
discharge its duties.
(c) Teleconferencing.--The task force may participate in
meetings via teleconference when necessary.
(d) Call of the chairperson.--The task force shall hold
meetings at the call of the chairperson.
