compliance with the requirements of section 3 of the Military
Selective Service Act (62 Stat. 604, 50 U.S.C. § 3801 et
seq.) may consent to registration by the department by
checking the box provided on the application for such
purpose.
(2) The department shall place the check-off box
described under paragraph (1) and the following statement on
the application:
Failure to register with the Selective Service
System, if required by Federal law, is a felony
punishable by up to 5 years imprisonment or a
$250,000 fine, or both. By checking the above box, I
am consenting to registration with the Selective
Service System. For applicants who object to
conventional military service for religious or other
conscientious reasons, alternative service
information is available from the Selective Service
System's publicly accessible Internet website.
(3) An application for a driver's license or learner's
permit may not be denied by the department if the applicant
declines to consent to registration with the Selective
Service System.
(4) The department shall forward, in electronic format
to the Selective Service System, the necessary personal
information of the consenting applicants required to comply
with the Military Selective Service Act.
(5) The department shall enter into an agreement with
the Selective Service System which provides for reimbursement
of the Motor License Fund by the Selective Service System for
the department's actual costs incurred in the development and
