A RESOLUTION
Designating the week of March 13 through 19, 2016, as "Pulmonary
Rehabilitation Week" in Pennsylvania.
WHEREAS, The American Association of Cardiovascular and
Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR) is observing "National
Pulmonary Rehabilitation Week" from March 13 through 19, 2016,
with the theme "Some Things Take Your Breath Away, Others Give
It Back"; and
WHEREAS, Pulmonary disease is the third leading cause of
death in our nation and in this Commonwealth; and
WHEREAS, Pulmonary rehabilitation is a broad program that
helps improve the quality of life and overall well-being of
those who have chronic breathing problems; and
WHEREAS, Observation of AACVPR's "National Pulmonary
Rehabilitation Week" calls special attention to the dedicated
professionals who promote the dissemination of information about
pulmonary disease, its prevention and rehabilitation; and

WHEREAS, The dedicated pulmonary specialists of Pennsylvania
and the strides made to conquer lung disease are deserving of
great recognition; therefore be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate designate the week of March 13
through 19, 2016, as "Pulmonary Rehabilitation Week" in
Pennsylvania and commend the American Association of
Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation for its work on this
important public health issue.
