AN ACT
Amending the act of March 10, 1949 (P.L.30, No.14), entitled "An
act relating to the public school system, including certain
provisions applicable as well to private and parochial
schools; amending, revising, consolidating and changing the
laws relating thereto," in school finances, providing for
posting of unencumbered funds.
The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
hereby enacts as follows:
Section 1. The act of March 10, 1949 (P.L.30, No.14), known
as the Public School Code of 1949, is amended by adding a
section to read:
Section 609.1. Posting of Unencumbered Funds.--The board of
school directors of each school district must, thirty (30) days
prior to the final passage of a budget for the school district,
prominently post on the school district's publicly accessible
Internet website the amount of unencumbered funds remaining from
the school district's current and prior years' general fund.
If the information required under this section is not posted
as required under this section, the school district shall

forfeit all State funding for that fiscal year.
Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
