A RESOLUTION
Recognizing the week of June 13 through 19, 2016, as "Men's
Health Week" in Pennsylvania.
WHEREAS, Despite advances in medical technology and research,
men continue to live an average of five years less than women;
and
WHEREAS, Many of the causes of premature death among men are
preventable or treatable if caught in the early stages; and
WHEREAS, A healthy lifestyle that includes screening for
major health problems and regular health care monitoring
beginning in childhood can decrease the risk of disease and
death; and
WHEREAS, "Men's Health Week" is set aside for reflection and
action to improve the health of men in our communities; and
WHEREAS, Its purpose is to heighten awareness of preventable
health problems and encourage early detection and early
