A RESOLUTION
Commending Penn State Hershey Children's Hospital for being
recognized as one of the nation's best children's hospitals.
WHEREAS, Penn State Hershey Children's Hospital has again
been ranked among the top 50 United States pediatric facilities
according to U.S. News & World Report; and
WHEREAS, Penn State Hershey Children's Hospital has earned a
national ranking in eight pediatric specialties in U.S. News &
World Report's 2015-2016 Best Children's Hospitals rankings; and
WHEREAS, This year marks the fifth consecutive year that Penn
State Hershey Children's Hospital has been recognized in
multiple pediatric specialities; and
WHEREAS, The eight pediatric specialties reflected in the
recent rankings are: cancer, cardiology and heart surgery,
gastroenterology and gastrointestinal surgery, nephrology,

neurology and neurosurgery, orthopedics, pulmonology and
urology; and
WHEREAS, U.S. News & World Report's rankings highlight the
top 50 pediatric facilities in the United States in each of ten
pediatric specialties; and
WHEREAS, Rankings are based on clinical data gathered from
184 pediatric centers nationwide; and
WHEREAS, Penn State Hershey Children's Hospital, located in
Hershey, Dauphin County, is a 475-bed general medical, surgical
and teaching facility; and
WHEREAS, Penn State Hershey Children's Hospital has attained
distinction as the sole regional children's hospital, Level 1
pediatric trauma center and Level IIIC neonatal intensive care
unit; and
WHEREAS, Pediatric medical and surgical specialists and
additional support professionals, including technicians,
researchers and administrators, provide comprehensive, leading-
edge patient care and family-centered care at Penn State Hershey
Children's Hospital; and
WHEREAS, Penn State Hershey Children's Hospital deserves
recognition for its exceptional standards of care for seriously
ill children and their families, its community outreach and its
continued achievements in medical education and research;
therefore be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives commend Penn
State Hershey Children's Hospital for being recognized as one of
the nation's best children's hospitals; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be transmitted to
Penn State Hershey Children's Hospital at 500 University Drive,
Hershey, PA 17033.
