A RESOLUTION
Designating the week of May 11 through 17, 2015, as "Salvation
Army Week" in Pennsylvania.
WHEREAS, A love for God and a desire to help others is the
motivation behind the men and women of the Salvation Army; and
WHEREAS, The Salvation Army is one of the largest charitable
and service organizations in the world; and
WHEREAS, The Salvation Army has been dispensing aid, without
discrimination, to persons in need since 1865; and
WHEREAS, The Salvation Army is a symbol of compassion and an
active participant in the provision of services to thousands of
men, women and children in our communities; and
WHEREAS, The Salvation Army provides spiritual counseling,
basic human necessities and much more to hurt and needy persons
on a daily basis in this Commonwealth; and
WHEREAS, Its programs and services have benefited

Commonwealth residents without regard to race, color, creed, sex
or age for more than 125 years; therefore be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives designate the
week of May 11 through 17, 2015, as "Salvation Army Week" in
Pennsylvania and commend this fine organization for its
continued dedication to the needs of the people of this
Commonwealth.
