A RESOLUTION
Honoring Immanuel Spencer Whitfield Wilkins for his selection to
attend the 57th Annual Grammy Awards ceremony and camp for
the second consecutive year.
WHEREAS, Immanuel Spencer Whitfield Wilkins is a senior at
Upper Darby High School and plays the saxophone in the Upper
Darby High School Band and Jazz Band and plays the keyboard and
organ in the Prayer Chapel Church of God in Christ praise band;
and
WHEREAS, Chosen as one of only 31 students from across the
country and the only Pennsylvania student chosen to attend
Grammy Camp, Immanuel Wilkins participated in a week-long
experience that included several public performances and a
recording session at Capitol Studios and Mastering in Hollywood,
California; and
WHEREAS, The week culminated with attendance at the 57th
Annual Grammy Awards and a performance at the Grammy celebration
after-party; and

WHEREAS, Immanuel Wilkins studies and performs with ensembles
at the Philadelphia Clef Club of Jazz and Performing Arts and
the Kimmel Center Creative Music Program; and
WHEREAS, Immanuel Wilkins has additionally performed at the
Blue Note Jazz Club and Dizzy's Jazz Club in New York and at the
Montclair Jazz Festival, Somerville Jazz Festival and New York
Winter JazzFest; and
WHEREAS, Immanuel Wilkins has been a teacher at the Georgia
E. Gregory Interdenominational School of Music in Philadelphia
for the past two years and was the only student from
Pennsylvania chosen to play with the Monterey Jazz Festival Next
Generation Jazz Orchestra; and
WHEREAS, Immanuel Wilkins plans to continue his study of
music and has applied to attend Julliard, the New York School
for Jazz and Contemporary Music, the Manhattan School of Music
and the William Patterson University of New Jersey; and
WHEREAS, Immanuel Wilkins truly exemplifies the best
qualities of the human experience and is deserving of
recognition for his dedicated pursuit of musical excellence;
therefore be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives honor Immanuel
Spencer Whitfield Wilkins for his selection to attend the 57th
Annual Grammy Awards ceremony and camp for the second
consecutive year.
