A RESOLUTION
Honoring the life and ultimate sacrifice of Officer Robert
Wilson III, of the 22nd District Philadelphia Police
Department, who lost his life in the line of duty, and
expressing condolences upon his passing.
WHEREAS, Robert Wilson III, a decorated Philadelphia police
officer, tragically passed away March 5, 2015, at Temple
University Hospital at the age of 30, while attempting to stop a
robbery at a local store; and
WHEREAS, Officer Wilson, who always had a heart to serve his
community, graduated from West Philadelphia High School in 2002
and found a position in the City of Philadelphia's Fleet
Management Division, but he wanted to do more; and
WHEREAS, Officer Wilson graduated from the police academy in
2007, serving as an officer for the 22nd District Philadelphia
Police Department. He was also a volunteer in the department's

body-camera program, always seeking ways to build trust between
the community and police; and
WHEREAS, Officer Wilson was a hardworking, selfless and
supportive role model to his family and friends and a hero to
his community and sons; and
WHEREAS, Officer Wilson enjoyed spending time with his two
sons, working on cars and helping others in any way he could;
and
WHEREAS, In addition to his grandfather, Robert Wilson, Sr.,
and grandmother, Constance Wilson, Officer Wilson is survived by
two sons, Quahmier and Robert IV, and a sister, Shakira;
therefore be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives honor the life
and express condolences upon the passing of Officer Robert
Wilson III; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be transmitted to
the family of Officer Robert Wilson III, as an expression of
condolence for their loss and as a token of appreciation of
Officer Wilson's vital role in serving his community with
excellence.
