AN ACT
Providing for parking for individuals with a handicap.
The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
hereby enacts as follows:
Section 1. Short title.
This act shall be known and may be cited as the Municipal
Parking for Individuals With a Handicap Act.
Section 2. Definitions.
The following words and phrases when used in this act shall
have the meanings given to them in this section unless the
context clearly indicates otherwise:
"Municipality." Every county, city, borough, incorporated
town, township and home rule municipality.
Section 3. Parking for individuals with a handicap.
(a) General rule.--A municipality that allows a resident to
request that the municipality designate a municipal parking
space as reserved exclusively for parking by an individual with
a handicap may limit access to that reserved parking space to a
specific vehicle, license plate or other method of designation.

(b) Limitation.--Handicapped parking spaces provided under
subsection (a) shall be limited to persons with an extreme
medical limitation or need as determined by the individual's
medical provider.
Section 4. Effective date.
This act shall take effect in 60 days.
