AN ACT
Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
Statutes, in financial responsibility, further providing for
required financial responsibility.
The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
hereby enacts as follows:
Section 1. Section 1786 of Title 75 of the Pennsylvania
Consolidated Statutes is amended by adding a subsection to read:
ยง 1786. Required financial responsibility.

(b.1) Duty of insurers issuing new contracts.--An insurer
who issues a new contract of motor vehicle liability insurance
to the owner of a motor vehicle required to be covered by
financial responsibility under this chapter shall notify the
department of the new contract in a timely manner and in a
method prescribed by the department's regulations.

Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
